Crossing the border with a vehicle will require the Importer to pay customs and import fees (duty, taxes, bonding and border fees). These fees are in addition to the transport costs itself. Any vehicle that comes across the border requires customs paperwork to be processed. If it is a formal entry (the vehicle will be licensed and titled in Canada), there will be import fees.
Arranging the transport is a two part process in most cases. First we get the vehicle to/from the US terminal and second to it’s final destination. This will typically mean your vehicle will be loaded and unloaded on two separate car haulers.
Many Canadian cities have narrow streets and it is illegal for large trucks to deliver in these areas. Because of this, the importer will decide if the vehicle will be picked up at the terminal or if door-to-door is preferred, what the additional cost will be to have the vehicle towed to it’s final destination. Storage is also available for an additional fee. Tow companies are in place to deliver door-to-door for an additional fee.
